Achievements
Organisations & Registrations
- Founded and organised the Dangi Community in India and abroad from 1961.
- Re-organised the Yuwak Sangh Bihar organisation in 1967.
- In 1979, established the All India Dangi Kshatriya Sangh; he constituted its rules and regulations and the society was registered under the Societies Registration Act (1960) in 1981. [Reg. no. 1/1981-82]
- Registered the social organisation Bhartiya Dangi. [Trust. No. 1309/24.04.2012]
- As Mahamantri of the organisation, he organised the first five All India conferences and expanded it to Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Haryana, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar.
Conferences & Events
- Organised the 1st All India Dangi Kshatriya Sangh conference over three days, 3rd, 4th and 5th February 1979, at Ramleela Maidan, Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh.
- Organised the 2nd All India Dangi Kshatriya Sangh conference on 9th and 10th March 1980 at Suryan Maidan (Motor Stand), Datia district, Madhya Pradesh. At that conference the Sangh flag was adopted — upper half Kesariya, lower half green, with a circular red sunrise at the centre — along with the Sangh flag anthem written by the poet Sri Rameshwar Singh ‘Natwar’.
- Organised the 3rd All India Dangi Kshatriya Sangh conference on 4th and 5th November 1981 at Rajgir. About 6000 delegates from Bihar and other provinces participated.
- Organised the 4th All India Dangi Kshatriya Sangh Conference on 4th and 5th May 1985 at Bamhori Barana, Tikamgarh district, Madhya Pradesh.
- Organised the 5th All India Dangi Kshatriya Sangh conference on 29th and 30th December 1990 at Anjani Lal Mandir Mela Ground, Rajgarh district, Madhya Pradesh.
- Organised the international World Dangi Organisation event in 1995 at Hayat International Hotel, New Delhi, under the presidency of the first I.A.S. officer of the Dangi Society, Hon. Kshetragya Kr. Mahto, O.S.D. to V.C. of D.D.A., Delhi. The chief guest was Rev. Mr Tek Bahadur Dangi, the Chief Secretary of Nepal Tourism Board, Kathmandu, Nepal, along with the President and Secretary of Delhi Dangi Samaj, the Development Officer of H. L. Co. Mumbai, and other dignitaries. He was then All India Secretary of the Akhil Bhartiya Dangi Kshatriya Sangh.
- Organised a large Sammelan at Gandhi Maidan, Patna in 1994 to press for inclusion of the Dangi caste in the Backward list. The then Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr Lalu Prasad, addressed the Sammelan and announced the inclusion of the Dangi caste in Annexure-II, along with a member on the Backward Class Commission.
Recognition
- Named as a renowned & known figure of Bihar in magazines such as Pratiyogita Darpan (Bihar & Jharkhand), the Pratiyogita Sahitya Series, and other competitive books.
- The Mahabodhi Temple of Bodhgaya was enlisted on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2002, an effort in which he was closely involved.
- For this, the Governor of Bihar, Hon’ble Mr R. S. Gawai, honoured him.
- The Director of Archaeology and the District Magistrate of Gaya honoured him with precious certificates.
- A precious certificate was issued by the Indosan Nippon Brotherhood Organisation of Japan.
- The Mahabodhi Society, and societies in Sri Lanka and other countries, have also issued precious certificates to him.
Social Work
- Began the anti-dowry marriage movement in Dangi society in 1968, which continues.
- Established and organised a free medical camp at Vishnupad Mandir Marg for pilgrims during the Pitru Paksha Mela since 1993. Run under the All India Dangi Kshatriya Sangh with homoeopathic, allopathic, ayurvedic and unani doctors, the camp operates for 24 hours through Pitru Paksha each year and is inaugurated by the Civil Surgeon, the District Civil Surgeon, or a state minister. The district administration has awarded the organisation a certificate of appreciation every year.
- Played an important role in establishing the Tekari Subdivision in 1994.
- Played an important role in establishing the Girls High School at Tekari.
- Played an important role in establishing the Mahila Mahavidyalaya at Tekari.
- In 2018, the then Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr Nitish Kumar, visited the historic village of Law, learned about its history and its dowry-free marriages, and announced a weir (bandh) on the Morhar river.
Research, Media & Memberships
- In 1978, convinced the B. P. Mandal Commission to include the Dangi caste in the Backward Classes list in its report, submitting documents on the community’s backwardness across 9 states of India at the Commission’s sitting at Lady Stephenson Hall, Patna.
- After the conferences, he turned to Dangi research and identified a number of important Dangi sites.
- Regular talker on All India Radio, Patna, in the Chaupal programme.
- Member of the Bihar State Bar Council. [Reg. no. 180/86]
- Organised an All India Archaeologists’ Seminar at WALMI, Phulwarisharif, Patna, under the guidance of the Director of the Bihar Archaeological Department.
- Organised a conference of the Bihar Young Lawyers Association at Library Hall, Gaya.
- Attended the SAARC conference on Global Warming under the Nature Human Centric Movement at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
- Organised seminars on global warming under the Nature Human Centric Movement organisation, as an All India member and Bihar in-charge.
